Fears of being severely punished for misusing the internet at work are not misplaced. When the American Management Association released its 2005 Electronic Monitoring & Surveillance Survey, results showed that 26% of the organizations surveyed fired workers for misusing the Internet. Another 25% have terminated employees for email abuse, and 6% have canned them for misusing office phones. So, enjoy your right to free speech and right to privacy, but you may need to check them at the office door if you wish to continue receiving your paycheck.

What ever happened to good, old permanent magic markers? At least with paper documents, blacked out text stayed that way. However, what you can't see is not necessarily gone when it comes to electronic documents, in this case PDF documents. In a recent article at PDFZone, Adobe claims that Acrobat is not marketed or sold as a redaction tool but does refer users to an Acrobat plug-in by Appligent. called Redax that can safely get the job done.

For those of you who have heard of RSS ("Rich Site Summary" and later coined "Really Simple Syndication") but haven't tried it yet, Apple has made it easy. The latest version of their web browser has made this form of "web-site broadcasting" accessible and appealing. Essentially, RSS allows you to create a constantly updated table of contents for your favorite web sites. This allows you to quickly see and review what's new on the Net.

Talk about tedious, rambling, interminable, lengthy, boring, wordy and record-setting! Anybody would have to have some objections to an argument of this length.
